Wyclef Jean Recording New Album with Berklee Students

Wyclef Jean was back in town over the weekend, collaborating with Berklee College of Music student musicians, arrangers, and producers on tracks for his upcoming album, The Haitian Experience. Jean with the help of Berklee administrators and faculty submitted rough mixes for three songs to a small group of students and asked them to arrange string parts for them. He liked film scoring and music production and engineering dual major Will Wells’ work so much that he asked him to arrange all three and conduct a group of student string players on a session at Q Division Studios in Somerville with producer Jean and music production and engineering major Adam Hand behind the boards.

  1. I’m still amazed that Wyclef is going to school at Berklee. A remarkably talented (and famous) celebrity in Fenway! I hope I run into him at Pavement cafe.
