A faithful reader sent me this link from the Nation, in response to my editorial about flag use. I might add that I consider that editorial unfinished as yet, since I haven’t finally made up my mind about the cognitive dissonance the Boston Pops induced in me by its particular use of flags and flag imagery in its phenomenal Kennedy concert. People like Patricia J. Williams and Keith Lockhart are beginning to clean up all the muck on my mental image of the flag thrown at it by right-wing idolaters over the past 4 decades.
